I have always told myself that if I was ever going to use the Business Spotlight to highlight a business outside the city of limits of San Carlos, it would (1) need to provide a direct, useful benefit to San Carlans; and (2) the service and pricing would have to be out of this world. Trans Video Express meets the standard. If there was a sixth star available on Yelp, these guys should get it.
Odds are that you have a need for Trans Video Express. TVE is located in Belmont at 800 El Camino #5. They specialize in taking your old 8mm, video tapes, slides, audio files and moving them all to the medium of choice. Transfers to DVDs, memory sticks, etc…it’s up to you. This is a family run business. The owner could not be any nicer and they really understood how important our photos, film reels and videos were to our family. They took all of our 8mm reels, tapes and slides and put them on 3 DVDs for us for under $100. I shopped around before heading to TVE, and I can tell you this price was extremely reasonable. However, it’s the service that set it apart. Everything was done and back to us in five days. The quality of the transfer was outstanding. I could not recommend them more highly.
TVE is run out of a very small office at that is lined floor to ceiling with boxes and tapes as soon as you walk in. It’s not like walking into a polished, professional studio, but it’s the product and services that you receive that count.

I love Trans Video Express! They are so flexible, fast and reasonably-priced. Costco now offers some of the services that they do, but at TVE I am leaving my precious photos and videos with a person who I know will take great care with and not lose them. Plus, it’s close by and has easy parking. TVE is a true example of the term “hidden gem.” Thanks for spotlighting them, Bob!
