If you were searching for a local business that most closely aligns itself with the core values of San Carlos, the Avenir Restaurant Group has to be at the top of your list. San Carlos has built its well-earned reputation around the concept of community. Avenir has built its business around the towns in which it operates, including San Carlos. Therefore, its no surprise that they chose a name for one of their more famous restaurants that encompasses that community feel…Town.
Town, Milagros and Nola make up Avenir. While the food, service and atmosphere of all Avenir restaurants are truly top-notch, what separates Avenir from others is their dedication to charitable endeavors. I had the opportunity to attend the San Carlos Educational Foundation annual fundraiser at Town on Sunday night. Aside from donating the proceeds of the evening, Avenir also donated many silent auction items. Avenir has done this for the past few years and they are always a major donor to the annual spring fling event, benefiting the San Carlos Educational Foundation. Avenir also donates and contributes to many other charities on a local and national level. That feeling of community and charitable giving is as much a part of the DNA of Avenir as providing a top-tier restaurant, and it is that sometimes-overlooked ingredient which allows them to represent the very best of San Carlos.
Consider this post a long overdue “thank you” to a wonderful San Carlos tradition.

Bob,
I could not agree more. Having been to the Town event and Spring Fling for the past few years, I am always amazed at the generosity of these guys.

Well said, Bob. All the best to Avenir for continued success in SC!
I also agree completely. As a resident who loves our town, I think it’s our responsibility to support local businesses–particularly those like Avenir who do so much to support our community. We eat their regularly–great food and great service. During a recent remodel, I am proud to say that every electrical switch, fixture, faucet, tile, cabinet, paint, etc. were purchased from businesses in San Carlos. Prices were competitive, service was great, all were conveniently located and all of those tax dollars helped benefit our community. We should all make the effort.
