Just Released: San Carlos Treasure Hunters 2012

San Carlos Treasure Hunters 2012…..Ready To Go Again?

[youtubefeeder]
Myself and Dr. David Young of Young Orthodontics are very pleased to announce the 7th Annual San Carlos Treasure Hunters.  This year’s hunt, Camp Wendigo ~ The Nightmare At Arguello Park is set for Saturday, October 20th at 5:00 pm in downtown San Carlos. Please note:  Applications will be available September 1st at http://sctreasurehunters.com. We will guarantee spots for the first 50 teams, only. This event reached 50 teams within the first 6 days last year, so please do not delay if you want to assure your team’s spot. Unlike previous years, we will firmly cap this year’s event.

Last year’s event held 72 teams, comprised of 216 kids, 172 parents and 42 volunteers. SCTH involves teams of 3 youths, ages 10-14, with at least one supervising parent.  Teams study a San Carlos history book and visit San Carlos parks in preparation for a massive, city-wide treasure hunt with the hope of finding the keys to a magnificent treasure chest.  Each year also has a fictional story matched up against a particular decade of San Carlos history.  Previous years have gone as far back as the 1500s in San Carlos history.  This year, we will be going back to 1979.  Since SCTH takes place around Halloween each year, the fictional story has a moderately scary theme, which the kids seem to love.
Please watch this site for more details to come.
