What is Your Home Worth?


This is, by far, the most submitted question on the San Carlos Blog. I decided to give this question its own page and response form. Realtors conduct what is called a CMA or Comparative Market Analysis when narrowing down the fair market value of homes. Many of the online home value sites, such as Zillow and Trulia give you

  1. A price range which is too large
  2. An inaccurate appraisal

Simply put, it is impossible for anyone to give you a definitive price without doing the following:

  1. An analysis of the current trends in your particular neighborhood
  2. Adding or subtracting value by factoring in the individual characteristics of your particular property
